You have certainly read your share of corporate graphic design pieces, in the form of direct mail pieces and product literature. You have listened to and watched many commercials, and probably visited hundreds or even thousands of websites.
Most of the copywriting you have experienced is a variation on the theme of “sales speak.” It is generally product oriented and speaks about the company and its offerings as though you already have intimate knowledge of the subject. It is often designed to be clever, to say something for the sake of saying it, to fill up space, or just get the job done and move on to the next project.
